Christmas 2011

The holiday season went by so quickly, and it was nice to have David here while he had 10 days of official " leave" (time off) over Christmas. During that time we finished the last of our Christmas shopping, took the girls to see Santa Claus, celebrated Christmas together, and even flew to Charleston, SC for a day of house-hunting! Whew! Jam-packed 10 days!

Below are a few Holiday 2011 photos. We spent Christmas Eve/Christmas Day at my mom's/Bill's as they went out of town for the holiday itself and we were to dog sit (or own dog) while they were gone.  It worked out well because it meant we got to enjoy their tree, have use of their house and lots of space to open presents, hang out as a family, and of course, to cook a big Christmas Day dinner. Unfortunately, Alison came down with a mighty stomach flu bug on the Eve of Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve day.  She spent the better part of the day resting/sleeping, but started to feel better in time to set out cookies for Santa and food for his Reindeer that night, thankfully.

Time has been trucking right along here in Pittsburgh. It is hard to believe that in two weeks David's time on the USS Ronald Reagan will be officially ending. Goodbye sea duty!! He flies out to us here Pittsburgh at that point, and then we will be moving to Charleston as a family of four. Honestly it doesn't seem real to me. Not yet.

Enjoy the photos below. And, Happy New Year!

Pics with Santa Claus! They were both excited and ALL smiles this year.
